Hi Mark, bit surprised that you are ending your trip as I thought that you were riding through Europe. Nevertheless having travelled with you I know that you have had a great time. As I said earlier, I learnt a lot from you in those 4-5 days and enjoyed every moment. My trip also has great memories which I will share with you at another time. All the best as you find your way back to the UK.

Absolutely yes on the book especially with the great photos. I take it you're home by now or soon will be. I imagine when you're settled you'll go back through your blog and expand on your entries. Ted the Younger may need to contribute before and after chapters too. And then there's Lottie's take on New Zealand. Plus helpful analyses of proper bike gear for such a venture. Could be a good summer project. In any case enjoy your Cambridge spring. Ted the Elder

Hello Ted The Elder,
India was a great place toend the trip, it was a shock to arrive there from Thailand -all the smell, sounds and noises are so different. I took 24 hours to adjust and then I started to see why people who visit India rave about it it so much.
Thanks for being such a long term follower of the blog.
Do you think there is a book to to be created from this trip? Do you want to help to put it together using your written skills?

Mark, sounds like you've had a truly fantastic trip. I look forward to hearing the many tales after a light game of tennis. My cycling is just starting for the year. Will you be joining for the French jaunt next month!?

Best wishes, and see you soon

You made it to India? Congratulations. Adjusting from one culture to another must be daunting. How is the bike holding up? And you for that matter? I'm editing a documentary shot in Delhi and the Punjab last fall, and the country looks fascinating. I hope you're enjoying an epic conclusion.

Hi Clare,
Great to hear your new and views.
I hope you are both well and that life is in balance, not to much playing and to to much work. I met a guy yesterday who was a bit out there, we had a chat and one of his strongly held views was that a 4 day week would improve our sex lives. He felt that all the people who worked in London - took the Tube- worked too hard had no chance of fitting in sex to their schedule. He was a bit unsual but good to talk to.
I am checking out one of Bangkok`s Jazz clubs which is very relaxing, I am in China Town and so Birds nest and Sharks fin are on the menus.
Si is picking me up from the airport on Thursday, I am very glad that he is doing this, its a bit of a cycle ride from Terminal 5 to Cambridge.
I will pack up the bike and then on to Delhi.

Lots of Love

Mark.

Hi Mark

What wonderful descriptions and reflections you have given us all over the last few days and it fact on your whole adventure - thank you for sharing at least a bit of it. Congratulations on all the miles travelled on two wheels.

You have clearly loved having Ted as your cycling and travel companion, it sounds an excellent partnership, it is great that in a way he has started and ended the cycling element of your trip with you and I am sure you have both benefitted from the whole experience. I'm not sure you banked on getting your credit card out for his onward adventure - but I think it is money well spent!

I think that you must be on the long bus jurney to Bangkok as we speak, I am sure that that was not the most comfortable experience, in fact it was probably quite scary with the Thai driving!

We have just had a weekend away in Torquay, not very exotic, but good fun! The starlings in the garden are practically churping and singing their heads off which is a real joy to hear - the clocks changed at the weekend so we now have lighter nights which is great for the humans and the wildlife. Now all we need is some warm sun - maybe you can bring it our way on your return??!

I hope the new suit you find waiting for you in Bangkok fits OK - given your height and extra material used I reckon that they charged you 30% more!

I hope you last few days away are good and your glimse at India gives you a reason to return at another time

I am so looking forward to seeing you, take care

Lots of love ClareXX

James
I may well be taking up the offer of a spin in the old boat.
Thailand is great ,very comfortable place to be a cycle tourist. If you fancy a trip through France in May we are having our annual boys trip.Cycling is very good for sore backs, having a sore bum means that you forget about the back.
Good to hear about the new stead, can i have a ride when I get back?
